Project – Coolah and Shetland storm water run-off shotcrete
Asset Owner – Marion City Council
Value - $450,000
Portolesi has shared a long and well established working relationship with the Marion Council. Works have included the ongoing rehabilitation to the storm water drains running into the main spill way.
The current operation involves the structural re-lining of 2 of these drains at Coolah Tce and Shetland Rd with each stage being approximately 40m long x 2400 high x 2400 wide. The operation consists of the complete replacement of the failing concrete precast segments using a methodology developed by Portolesi Consulting where by a new 150mm thick concrete inner shell is sprayed insitu thus generating a completely new element.
In what is a very difficult environment where water run off… often on short notice, confined space, wet lands and pedestrian traffic needed to be factored Portolesi established the entire operation and managed the processes with the highest levels of performance output, safe systems and workmanship quality. Approximately 1,000 x 2500mm started bars were installed, 1,200m2 of mesh placed, and 100m3 of concrete sprayed.
